Partials & Dentures

An incomplete smile can make you look older than you are, place your health at risk, and diminish quality of life. While the team at Keystone Dentistry does all they can to help you keep your teeth, sometimes that isn’t possible and dentures are required. Modern replacement teeth look and feel like the real thing and provide all of the benefits of a strong, healthy smile. Dr. Wayne Kinney designs custom dentures and partials that look great, feel comfortable, and function like natural teeth.
Complete Dentures – Full dentures contain realistic prosthetic teeth affixed to a gum-colored base and are a good choice for patients when very little of their original teeth remain. We will first remove any of your remaining teeth to fit your dentures. After you have had time to heal we will make a mold of your gums and send it to a dental lab where your customized dentures are constructed. Typically you’ll first be fitted with temporary dentures until your permanent set is ready. Your custom-made prosthetic will beautifully renew your smile. You’ll look younger, eat without discomfort, and experience improved articulation. Dentures are typically held in place with natural suction or over-the-counter adhesive. Dr. Kinney may suggest securing your dentures with dental implants for maximum stability.
Partial Dentures - Prepared in much the same way as a complete set this type of denture, commonly known as a “partial”, is recommended to complete a smile that still has some healthy teeth remaining. We’ll create your smile-renewing partial with life-like prosthetic teeth to fill gaps and prevent existing teeth from drifting out of position. Unobtrusive clasps anchored to healthy neighboring teeth or to dental implants will hold the partial in place.
Both partial and complete dentures can be further stabilized with either implants or mini-implants. Our doctor might recommend this for patients with bone loss excessive enough to compromise the fit of your denture.
