Implant Supported Prosthetics

Before teeth implants, there were no fixed solutions available for people who lost all or most of their teeth. Today, we can replace a full jaw with dental implants and a fixed prosthetic that results in a permanent, stable and highly aesthetic solution. Dental implants are the most permanent solution to missing teeth; they prevent bone deterioration and preserve your facial structure and even better, there’s no need to destroy good, healthy tooth structure.
Dental implants are small titanium posts which, fused inside the jawbone, keep your bone healthy and your new teeth securely in place. The number of implants we recommend varies depending upon which type of replacement teeth (removable or fixed) is wanted and the health of your bone. Once the implants have been placed in your jaw, they can be restored with different types of replacement teeth or prosthetics.
A removable prosthesis such as an overdenture attaches to a bar or with ball-in-socket attachments and should be removed daily for cleaning, whereas a fixed prosthetic is permanent and removable only by the dentist. Fixed partial prosthetics such as a fixed bridge can replace two or more teeth and may require only two or three implants. A complete dental prosthetic replaces all the teeth in your upper or lower jaw. This type of prosthesis can sometimes require as many as four to six implants, again depending on the health of the bone and a few other factors. Whatever the design, the object here is to overcome the instability and lack of retention of a common denture.
