The procedure stabilizes the existing denture or other prosthetic by anchoring it into place using mini dental implants. The mini dental implants are roughly the thickness of a toothpick and about one-third as tall; that means less time in surgery to place the implants. After you are anesthetized, a special drill is used to create a place for each implant. The implants are then inserted into the holes and tightened securely in the jawbone with special tools, ensuring an accurate and enduring fit.
The best news is that in many cases, patients do not require brand new dentures. New or modified dentures are recommended only when dictated by changes in the patient’s oral health. In order to retrofit the existing denture or partial to the new implants, it is sent to our lab where modifications are made that allow you to snap the prosthetic in and out.
